Jim has practiced law for over 30 years, the last 22 years having been in San Marcos. His work is primarily related to business organizations, real estate and municipal law. He also practices in the area of small estates and probate. He graduated from Texas Tech University Law School where he was a member of the Law Review, the Order of the Coif, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Prior to practicing law, Peter developed a felony pre-sentence investigation program for the 25th Judicial District of Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English with high honors and a master’s degree from the University of Texas, and a law degree from Wake Forest University. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, taught technical writing to U.T. Chemical Engineering students, and continues to speak on death penalty issues. His practice includes municipal law, guardianships, and dispute resolution.
Elly graduated from the the University of Texas School of Law. She began her legal career as a prosecutor and worked for several years in the Office of the Attorney General of Texas as counsel for the Texas Crime Victim’s Compensation Division, and most recently as an Assistant Attorney General in the Transportation Division in the field of Eminent Domain. She has been in private practice since 2000, primarily in property and family law.
